Of a cold wet windy Christmas Eve
Lost in my despair
Oh how I began to grieve
So many sins unconquered
Does God really care
Where is His mighty power
For one so naked and so bare
Then a star did rise
Deep within my heart so sure
Like on that first Christmas
Gods promise would ever always endure
Hope began to rise
The deeper in me God descended
Fear began to vanish
Despair soon had ended
Oh be still his child await
For God is very near
He ever comes in victory
To conquer every fear
Let His Christmas promise
Bring joy amid your trials
And though you fall in sin
Let that never steal your smiles
For Christ the weak Child
Came forth on Christmas Day
Knowing that for all
The deadly price he would pay
So rejoice though your journey
Is still not yet complete
And have faith this Christmas time
Though you still taste much defeat
For God the victory
He has surely won
Lift up your fallen eyes
To God the Holy Son
And hope once again
Let not satan steal
For God in your weakness
Knows surely how to heal
