Beaten bloody sore
Righteousness mocked and wounded
So goodness he could pour
All himself he emptied
Every last bleeding drop
So the Son of man
Could reap a mighty crop
Men still be blinded
To this love unfailing
Our Christian legal ways
We still our God are nailing
Do we know his love
Deep down in our hearts
To carry another sinners cross
The homosexual still departs
We offer him righteousness
When compassion is deeply needed
Both are essential
But let's prefer our body bleeded
Let's not despise the outcast
In our wicked pride
Let's not forget for all
The risen saviour died
