Hospitals

Hospitals
Are lonely busy places
A dead active silence
With so many faces
For the first time ever
Perhaps some time to think
Ponder upon life
Their own thoughts to drink

Some look scared
Many bored
Some look expectant
On their ward
Some smile
It's visiting hours
The hospital car park
Full of too many cars

Out in the distance
From the window
I capture a mountain
Still trying to put on a proud show
But it's distance gives it
A pretend humility
Beckoning all to heaven
As does each tree

Pray for my in law
My mother so weak
Come gentle Jesus
Kiss her cheek
She's so lacking
In knowing what's goin on
May so much of your grace
Kiss now her every dawn

Her days oh Lord
Are in your hands
Teach her wisdom
Are in all your plans
Lavish mercy
At this time
Let your truth
In her soul rhyme
