Gateway to life
Deaths gate
Though it cut like a knife
Is the painful way
To eternal joy
Where death no more
Can annoy
Why are we
Always surprised
When death arrives
As an enemy despised
Do we not dwell
In a land of death
That assuredly takes
Every mans breath
Maybe you've never
Numbered your days
With a heart fully wise
To know death always pays
Out the wages
Of hopeless sin
Putting the thought off
Then how can you win
Oh let me tell you
Gods in control
Of every man
Of every soul
Rest in Him
Who gives breath to all
Until he raises
From the fall
