The shadow of death
That always comes to steal
Many a man's breath
Why Unexpected
Does it stun
When multitudes die daily
Under our Sun
Any moment
We could have an appointment
And may be soon needing
Holy annointment
Yet we are always filled
With shock and awe
When death arrives
At our door
Death puts us to sleep
Lest we live for ever
With a fallen nature
But God said never
Could he leave us
In such a state
So a flaming sword
Did guard The Gate
Till the appointed
Time should come
In the fullness of times
God sent His Son
To be the resurrection
And the life
God married heaven and earth
Come be His eternal wife
So fear not
For death is mercy
Unnatural
Yet loves key
Opens the door
Who is God
Jesus Christ
Our only Lord
